SYNOPSIS
A man with wolf ears who perpetually looks like he would like the day to be over so he can sleep. He can be mistaken for a much older man because of his appearance and mannerisms-- Nehan acts like someone's dad who has Seen Some Shit Back In His Day and now wants to relax in his retirement. If asked what shit he's seen back in his day, he may share an anecdote about his involuntary membership in the mafia.
It's not easy to get him angry, and he usually doesn't have strong emotional responses, but he does dish out some physical threats if he feels someone is getting too inappropriate with him in any way. He prefers to keep everyone at an arm's length, solely because it's tough for him to muster up any fucks to give, even if the other person is relatively close to him-- he just doesn't have the spoons on most days. He is at his most professional when he's busy being a doctor or chemist, and always keeps calm no matter what.
BASICS
Canon: Granblue Fantasy (2D turn-based gacha mobage)
Canon Point: Post-coma
Name: Nehan, real name unknown
Aliases/titles: n/a
Age: 21, but exudes Old Man Energy and is often mistaken as much older
Species/race: Erune, a race of people who resemble various furry Earth animals, or kemonomimi. Nehan's clan is made of wolf kemonomimi (but I hc that he has some catpeople in his ancestry).
FIRST IMPRESSIONS
Non-human features: Has large ears whose fur turn from grey to black near the tips, but while his fur is well-groomed, it's not well-trimmed, probably the Erune equivalent of a bad haircut (because kids trimmed it for him). His canines are longer and sharper, like fangs, selling the illusion that he is indeed a wolf (GBVS said that Erune can have a little fang, as a treat).
Fashion: Often wears a grey suit with a long, thick coat and a scarf, which are too loose on him and show off his ribs and scars. When he's not on duty, he'll wear more casual clothing-- by "casual" I mean librarian chic and grandpa sweaters. As per Erune fashion, most of his clothes are backless and sometimes sideless, but he has some unaltered outerwear to hide his scars. He can also be seen sporting an eyepatch and a forearm crutch.
Spiritual/magical/aura: Full of elemental magic signified by colors, primarily pale yellow (light) and red (fire). He may or may not have other elements in him, we will have to see.
Height: 169cm, or approx. 5'6.54".
Build: Way too thin.
Hair: Blue-grey that leans more on grey, and messy.
Eyes: Blue-grey, leaning more on the blue, with heavy shadows underneath. He wears his patch over the left eye.
Voice: JP: Takashi Kondo | EN: Jonathan David Bullock. Warning: the JP video has mentions of slavery, child labor, child abuse, substance abuse, life-threatening injuries, near-death experiences, and suicidal ideation.
Language: The language of the Karm clan (Mandarin?), and other GBF versions of common RL languages (e.g. Japanese, English, Italian).
Scent: Whichever herb he's been working with lately, chemicals, papers and ink, occasionally like gunpowder.
Hand dominance: Right-handed
Literacy: Can read and write in the languages he knows.
Triggers: Nehan recoils from talk of redemption, especially his own, but doesn't shy away from heavier/darker topics that often come with trigger warnings. To him, those are just another Tuesday. Proceed with caution, or let me know if you want to opt out.
Other: Nehan is disabled in a number of ways: reduced vision in the left eye, reduced mobility and feeling in his left arm and leg, and lack of sense of taste. These disabilities cant be healed via medicine or magic because they're psychosomatic-- his poor mental health is sabotaging his recovery in these specific areas.

abilities
erune biology
Headcanon: I tend to say that Nehan has some catperson ancestry because his ears are definitely not a wolf's, they look more like a cat's. Karm heavily themed itself after wolves and many of the clan members really were wolf Erunes, but there's nothing saying that they were all wolves. Anyway, I digress.
Erunes as a whole have sharper hearing than the other races, for obvious reasons, and a lot of them have sharp incisors-- insert "fangs" and "[animal] teeth" jokes here. They also have better eyesight than other races, even Nehan, despite having poor vision in one eye. Oddly, most of them, save for the seniors, leave their backs bare. Their clothes literally have no backs, and even Nehan, who primarily wears tailored suits, has no back panels on any of his layers. Butts are covered, thankfully, but... they're just the race that goes around wearing backless outfits. Is it traditional fashion, culture, or some hidden biological reason? I have no clue tbh.
elemental affinity
Nehan's main element is light, which passively circulates in his body at all times unless he temporarily switches to another element, but has been shown to have the potential to use all of them in his battle against Six. He's learned how to work with fire too, but it's unknown if he'll ever be able to reach the power he did during that fight. However, Nehan doesn't cast spells like most of the other people around him, because his preference is to use his fists, gun, or potions. Also, any weapon he can get his hands on-- or even his hands themselves-- will automatically take on his element while he wields them, unless it's some legendary weapon or something forged specifically for one element.
Headcanon 1: Nehan's main element being light is the main reason why I believe that he's a weakling by Karm's standards. Karm is an extremely purple place, which means it's full of the dark element, and implies that majority of the inhabitants-- especially the Karm clan-- would have the same magical element as well. This would have made a difficult location and community for him to be in. He had a handicap right from the start, and even away from the village he couldn't be make up for it because he couldn't train.
Headcanon 2: Does Nehan carry bullets? Probably not. His holsters don't even have space for bullets, you can only see his gun and the pack for his medicines. I tend to say that he pushes his magic into his gun and molds it into bullets.
mental abilities
He's also capable of staying in control of himself-- if he's suffering from a curse or potion that would brainwash a person or make them lose control, Nehan is still lucid, even if he's visibly struggling to keep it together. Is this just a Nehan thing, or the self-control Karm tried to instill into its clan members? Who knows.
martial arts
Not much is known of the Karm martial arts, but we can get a good idea with the way both Nehan and Six work. Quickly coming in to strike, and dodging out of the way of an incoming blow only to punish the enemy's misses with counterattacks is clearly how they were taught to fight. Six prefers to use his fists, though Nehan counters with shots from his gun. He's a decent shot with a gun, which surprises him because of his eyepatch, but let's be real, it's not unheard of for some real-life professional athletes to wear patches while shooting.
Also, even while using a mobility aid, he is capable of outlasting others in combat through self-preservation techniques, and he does have enough agility to dodge consistently. It helps that whenever he's on the field, he stays at a distance thanks to his chosen weapon.
However, Nehan's true specialty is...
medicine/medicinal chemistry
Of course, this knowledge alone doesn't make a doctor, and while there's nothing even implying that Nehan's family is made of doctors (his late older sister in particular was a genius in martial arts), Nehan did amass a lot of knowledge about medicine over the years because of studying poisons because they have the same roots, any medicine can become a poison depending on the dose and vice versa. And also because he used to attempt to treat other slaves after the mafia hurt them... and because he had to treat himself as well while growing up. It's not a stretch to say that he has an intimate knowledge of the body-- and with the amount of races in canon, he's comfortable around a lot of different bodies as long as the patient is a humanoid.
In combat, he prefers being the support to more powerful people with his stimulants and healing potions even if healing and buffing magic is present. However, even if he brews them himself, they don't absorb his elemental magic. It would have been disastrous if they did.
